Just watched the episode with the four shaker end tables. Really did appreciate the different finish techniques. Especially the one with figured maple and really making the grain patterns pop… I really love that figured look but would like to more consistent in getting that deep three dimensional look. On this episode it looked like a coat of black was put on the board, then sanded and an amber stain. It really looked incredible on the television. My question is Tommie and Neal said the black coat was a black trace. I’m not sure what that is… Is it a lightly applied stain or a sprayed paint then sanded off…
Do you think that is also possible to do on a teak wood type table, what is good about that table is for both outdoor and indoor use. Thinking to just recreate something new. Anyway, this is where I got m furniture set – http://www.javateakoutdoorfurniture.com/products/.
