I’m all about bright and shiny, so it was with great glee that I stumbled upon Electrolux’s “Imagine the Home in 2020” competition. Once you get past the boring-as-Saltines name, you’ll be wowed by the range of products these imagineers have come up with(over 3,000 entries) not to mention what they predict will be passé in 14 years. Care for a sample? How about a pair of vacuum slippers, an inflatable fridge, or maybe some window cleaning robots for grandma. I won’t say who won this designers duel—you’ll have to give their site some traffic for that—but if you’re a fan of “nature’s negative ion generator,” I think you’ll leave happy (if not clean).
