What if kids had a place of their own to go to learn about ways to keep themselves, their families, their pets, and their homes safer in case of disaster? Well, now they do! It’s called the FLASH Kids Zone, and it’s part of our website at www.flash.org—look for the little girl in pigtails and her cute puppy at the bottom right of the homepage. In the Kids Zone, youngsters can visit the Safety House, where they’ll learn ways homes can be made stronger to protect against bad weather, such as hurricanes. They can duck into the Weather Station Club House to find out about weather threats. And, they can be part of an Emergency Operations Center, where trained pros work to keep us all safe from disaster. They’ll find plenty of puzzles, games, experiments, and quizzes along the way. Check it out!
