Owners of certain Skil circular saws should check their model numbers against saws included in a recent recall. About 811,000 Skil saws are being recalled due to problems with the trigger switch. A defect causes the trigger to lock on and remain functional after the trigger is released. It also allows the trigger to be switched on without the use of the safety lock-out, posing an extreme hazard. Owners should check the model numbers and date codes printed on the nameplate located on the front of the saw. Model numbers include 5650, 5700, 5750, and 5755. Affected date codes are 28101 through 29231, 38101 through 39231, 48101 through 49231, 58101 through 59231, and 68101 through 69231. The saws were sold nationwide between January 2002 and December 2006. Owners should stop using the saw immediately and contact Robert Bosch Tool Corporation at (866)761-5572 for repair information.
