National Geographic states that Americans produce 25 million tons of “festive rubbish” every year. There’s still enough time to help reduce this amount. Here are 3 last-minute ideas.
Wrapping. Try using newspapers or magazines for festive wrap. Or, look for recycled wrapping paper. I like to receive gift bags that are easily reusable.
Cards. Send electronic cards via email this year. Or, if you like to mail paper cards, look for ones made from 100% recycled paper.
Tree. Check with your community solid waste department and find out if they collect and mulch trees.
