I am a huge fan of multi-tools. My first Swiss Army Knife was the ultimate gift, even better than whatever toy or video game was hot that year. The newest and coolest multi-tool now is the Rapid Shark. This tool is more specifically designed for people doing electrical work, but it can be used by anyone. It consists of wire-stripping pliers and a utility knife with a sliding serrated blade. I don’t really do any electrical work, but I do know that knives and pliers can come in handy in any do-it-yourself project. The Rapid Shark was even in Popular Mechanics’ “Top 13 Tools for 2008 from the National Hardware Show,” which is reason enough to check it out.
