While free-standing pellet stoves have been available for several years, it’s only now that a pellet fireplace has become commercially available. Popular in Europe for many years, the technology will now become available to America with the launch of EDGE 60, a high-performance fireplace designed for supplemental home heating, this spring. The fireplace delivers 60,000 BTUs of heat, providing warmth to over 2,500 square feet of living space. Owners of the system can choose wood, grass, corn or wheat pellets. A programmable thermostat allows users to regulate the temperature and an extra-large hopper can support up to seven days of operation. It also has an automatic self-cleaning feature?
