Close to 700,000 window blinds sold at Cost Plus and World Market stores are being recalled due to a strangulation hazard they pose. No incidents or injuries have been reported with these particular blinds, but two children have died from similar style blinds. The blinds were sold nationwide at Cost Plus and World Market stores from February 2006 through August 2008. Four styles of the shades are being recalled:

  1. “Canvass Roman Shade” SKU numbers 376983, 376984, 376985 and 384870.
  2. “Sari Roman Shade” SKU numbers 394700, and 394701.
  3. “Buddha or Floral Matchstick Blinds” SKU numbers 407376 and 407221.
  4. Wooden Roll-Up Blinds SKU numbers 404991, 404992, 404993, 400742, 499743, 400744, 400745 and 400746 and 358064, 358065, 358066, 358067 and 358068.

Owners of affected blinds should stop using the product immediately and return it to any Cost Plus/World Market store for a full refund. For more information, call 877-967-5362 or visit the World Market Web site.
