Environmentally friendly tankless water heaters just got more green. Tankless water heater maker Noritz announced that 20 of their models have earned the Energy Star rating from the Department of Energy and the EPA. Because they heat water only when needed, tankless water heaters are already much more efficient than conventional tank-based systems. And now 20 units from Noritz have achieved the Energy Star ranking by meeting the minimum of 82 percent thermal efficiency.
