The new film “The Greening of Southie” chronicles the construction of the Macallen building, South Boston, Massachusetts’ first eco-friendly structure and shows how the workforce is getting “greener.” The film documents the use of recycled steel in the construction and the installation of living roof made up of soil and plants that cleans the city air. It also shows the retraining of the area’s workforce to use these new technologies.
