The Onion, perhaps America’s favorite comedy Web site, recently posted a slideshow of advice on making your home more “green.” Among their suggestions are: “Replace carbon monoxide detectors with canary” and “Replace electric garage-door opener with free-swinging saloon-style doors.” Let us re-emphasize the point just to be on the safe side; these are not real recommendations.
