Back in September, we told you about the appliance version of the Cash for Clunkers program, which offers consumers a rebate on old appliances when they are replaced with new, EnergyStar-approved models. We thought we’d check in and let you know that in much of the country, the program is still going strong.

Although 18 states and territories have already exhausted their rebate funds and closed their programs, the rest of states still have funds remaining and are distributing rebates. Some programs even just opened or are opening within the next month—Arizona opened on July 1, the District of Columbia’s program is slated to open in late July, and Oregon and New Jersey added several new products to their already existing programs on July 1.

So take a look at this map and see if your state’s program is still going on. Not only will you receive a rebate, you’ll save money in the long run by upgrading to more energy efficient appliances.
