This summer, we showed you Hangrohe’s PuraVida iPhone app, which enables users to virtually redesign their bathrooms with PuraVida products. And now, as the nights get longer and the days get cooler, we bring you Napoleon Fireplaces’ Design Studio iPhone App.
This free new app works on the same principle as the PuraVida app. It allows you to take a picture of your room and design a virtual fireplace for it, using Napoleon brand fireplaces or stoves and other customizable accessories: mantles, hearths, louvers, and so forth. Alternately, if you don’t want to design your own space, you can design a fireplace for a pre-set room. When you’re done designing, the app allows you to load the picture directly onto Facebook, where your friends and family can weigh in on whether you picked the right finish for the woodstove or material for the mantel.
It certainly seems as though we’re entering a brave new world of design, in which we no longer have to wonder whether the changes we envision for our homes will be beautiful or disastrous.
