The CPSC announced two new product recalls recently. The first is no surprise: another set of roll-up blinds–these from the Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store–recalled due to a strangulation risk. We’ve all seen this one before. Is it time to do away with the roll-up blind outright? Get the full details here.

The other recall is of 192,000 Black & Decker orbit sanders due to a laceration hazard. Apparently the platen–the piece that holds the sandpaper in place–can break and fly off during use, posing a danger to those nearby. Gruesome. Get the model number here.

If you have either of these two products, be sure to follow CPSC’s instructions on both pages concerning the recall and replacements to the faulty parts.
