Here’s a rough one: An elderly woman in Kansas City was evicted from her home due to an unfortunate deed mix-up. Apparently the woman’s friend and roommate–who owned the home–died in 1998 but failed to properly transfer the deed over to our current evictee.

The battle has gone to probate, and a real estate company is claiming ownership of the house. (They are offering to sell it for $60,000, though they paid only $13,000 for it at auction).

You can read more details on the article here. There’s also a video from the local Fox News station covering the situation, which is a bit dire for the woman. All her stuff has been thrown to the lawn. Fortunately her neighbors and fellow church members are helping her out.

What’s your take on this situation?
