A new crib safety video created by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Keeping Babies Safe (KBS) and the American Academy of Pediatrics is being shown on the Newborn Channel, part of the Wellness Network family.

All new parents would do well to check out the video and get up to speed on the best practices for safe cribbing of newborns.

The video is hosted by Joan Lunden, of Good Morning America fame, and features CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum, KBS President Joyce Davis and American Academy of Pediatrics President Dr. Marion Burton.

It’s good to see crib safety taking center stage, particularly after all the drop crib recalls over the past couple of years. It takes an act of faith for a parent to leave a child unattended in a crib and it’s nice to know that all the safety steps have been taken before turning off the light and shutting the door.
