Negotiating home prices just got a little easier. Or at least more impersonal.
The website BuyerCurious.com lets buyers make an offer on a property via the website, taking inconvenient — and sometimes awkward — phone calls out of the mix.
Once a buyer identifies a prospective property, he or she hits up the website to make an anonymous offer, using info like the property address or agent’s contact info to properly ID the property.
The idea is that having this means to make an offer will encourage the otherwise timid or lukewarm.
If parties reach a basic agreement through the site, they are transferred to the “deal room” where documents can be exchanged and negotiations continued until they sign a binding purchase agreement.
Pretty cool concept. It will be interesting to see if buyers and sellers catch on. Or if the $59.99 cost to make a bid will scare people off.
