Tommy MacDonald
Tommy MacDonald is an internationally acclaimed television personality and world-class woodworker.
He earned five Emmy Nominations and almost a dozen Telly Awards as the co-creator, co-executive producer, designer, builder and host of the series Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, which ran for seven seasons on Public Television.
Tommy’s first foray into television came by way of a feature on Bob Vila, where Tommy and his work were showcased in the Colonial House project. That appearance led to the creation of a woodworking series on BobVila.com titled The Rough Cut Show, in which Tommy taught woodworking tips and techniques for all skill levels. All told, the series encompassed over 200 episodes that reached countless viewers and helped Tommy hone his skills as a producer and on-air talent.
Tommy’s infectious energy and authentic Boston charm is matched only by a tireless work ethic and collaborative spirit. You’ll be hard pressed to find a host as accessible and engaging, or a producer as willing to go the extra distance to see a project from conception to completion.
