DuPont’s new herbicide “Imprelis” has been implicated in the mass death of Norway spruce and white pine trees across the U.S., according to a report by UPI.

The latest herbicide has been preferred by landscapers this year for weed control as it was allegedly safer for the environment than predecessors. It was also approved by the EPA last year.

But now both the EPA and DuPont are closely investigating the mass deaths to determine if Imprelis is to blame.

Homeowners who are hiring landscapers would do well to ensure that the herbicide is not being used, particularly if the property has Norway spruce and/or white pine.
