Going green, or making things more energy-efficient, is not just about saving the environment, it’s also about jobs. With this in mind, Efficiency First, the first and only trade association representing the home performance workforce, was launched on February 5, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. The organization is designed to bring all players in the home performance industry together to work with policy makers to improve existing homes’ energy efficiency. Efficiency First is looking to work with President Barack Obama’s and his proposal to create 78,000 jobs by retrofitting one million homes during his first year in office. You can read more about the organization and its goals at the association’s Web site.
