Most likely your boss doesn’t accept the excuse, “I slept through my alarm” when you are late to work. So what’s a late riser to do? A friend of mine sets up three different alarm clocks every night, a technique that works when he remembers to set all three. A better idea would be to hook up your average alarm clock to ring with a louder bell like, say, a fog horn. Not exactly pleasant but, for some, it’s the only thing that works. Instructables.com has an online how-to for doing just this—wiring your alarm clock to something louder. It includes a list of materials you’ll need, specific directions, some warnings, and a schematic for the wiring. It’s a good tutorial as long as you remember not all of your roommates, family, kids, and neighbors get up at the same time you do.
