You may be familiar with the story of the White House solar panels. Famously installed by President Carter to promote energy efficiency, they were later removed by Reagan shortly after he assumed office. As champions of solar power, we here at BobVila.com were hoping the incoming Obama administration would re-install them. What we didn’t realize was President Bush already installed some in 2003. Let’s hope Obama expands and actively promotes the use of this valuable resource.
