A heartfelt “thank you” to all veterans, past and present, from everyone here at Renovate Your World.

As you all find time to recognize and celebrate Veteran’s Day, I encourage you to reflect upon this story from 2009 of 91-year-old veteran Van T. Barfoot of Virginia–a WWII hero decorated with the Medal of Honor–who fought a battle with his homeowners association over his right to fly the American flag on a flagpole in his yard.

Barfoot was quoted saying, “In the time that I have left I plan to continue to fly the American flag without interference.” As one writer suggested, Barfoot’s neighbors would “do well to read his Medal of Honor citation. It indicates he’s not too good at backing down.”

To Van T. Barfoot and all others who serve: Thank You.
