MTD Products, Inc, has recalled the attachments to its TrimmerPlus Edger due to a laceration hazard. The steel shaft that drives the edger blade can break during use, causing the edger blade to detach. The detached blade can then fly out and hit the user or bystander.

So far no injuries or incidents have been reported.

About 14,500 units were recalled.

The units were sold at Lowe’s and other hardwired stores nationwide. Consumers who own any MTD TrimmerPlus Edger attachments should stop using them immediately and contact MTD to receive a free replacement.
